Bob Maheu founded LightFX in Toronto, Canada, in 1993 as a Landscape Lighting Design/Build company, and it quickly became recognized for its award-winning designs and installations.
In 2009 he decided to focus exclusively on designing, selling and overseeing the implementation of landscape lighting projects for local contractors servicing the upscale Toronto neighborhoods and the surrounding area country estates. In 2011 he began to target the US residential home estate market. Within a few years, Bob started to design and implement projects in some of country’s most affluent areas by partnering with US-based Home System Integrators. Recognizing that these contractors had no direct experience in landscape lighting, he developed specific protocols that permitted even those with no prior experience in landscape lighting to implement his designs flawlessly.
In 2017 he relocated to Bucharest Romania, where he is now developing the European and Persian Gulf markets while actively continuing to service his North American base.

Through LightFX, Bob Maheu has been able to showcase in both North America and Europe his skills as a landscape lighting designer, project manager, lecturer, published author, and business development consultant to the landscape industry. Coming from a corporate background that stressed efficiency and the bottom line, Bob keeps projects on budget, without sacrificing the final result. Through the incredible artistry he learned from more than two decades of practice in the design lighting industry, he formulates creative solutions that overcome design hurdles resulting in breathtaking effects.
